Charges and Financial Assistance
It has always been the intention of Gaia House to keep the daily rate as low as possible. However, over the years increased overheads and a drive to improve the facilities that Gaia House offers, have resulted in a situation where the standard rate barely covers the current operating costs for Gaia House.
Gaia House has a strong commitment to enable anyone, irrespective of financial circumstances, to be able to come on retreat. However, for the financial security of the organisation we need as many retreatants as possible to pay the standard rate, whilst being aware that for some people this is not possible. The supported rate is available for those who cannot afford the standard rate. If you wish to choose this option you must indicate this at the time of booking your retreat. We are no longer able to provide the supported rate on the day of arrival at Gaia House. If you are unable to pay the supported rate and need additional financial assistance, an application can be made to the Retreatant Support Fund.
The Retreatant Support Fund: This fund was established to help those unable to meet the costs of doing a retreat at Gaia House. It is
financed by donations from other meditators, and by cancellation fees. We offer a number of financially supported places on group
retreats. We welcome applications to this fund and mention of one's personal circumstances is not required. Please contact the managers
for further information. In addition to group retreats, the Retreatant Support Fund can be used for personal retreats of up to two weeks per
year for retreatants who have been on retreat at Gaia House for at least two weeks previously. Bursaries may also be available for longterm
retreats.
