This retreat is a rare and precious opportunity to engage in an extended period of individual meditation with the support of a group. Regular teacher interviews and Dharma are offered and guidance is available in Insight Meditation (Vipassana), tranquillity (Samatha) meditation, LovingKindness (Metta) and the other Brahma Viharas.
Each participant has a single room, and is offered the possibility to be in solitude or to sit with a small community retreating at Gaia House during this time. Priority is given to those who stay for the month, however, there are two additional starting and finishing dates: these are Tuesday 9th and Tuesday 16th November. To preserve the silence and stillness of the retreat house at this time and to support the deepending of practice, we do not permit arrivals or departures from the 16th November to the end of the retreat.
Previous experience of at least one week silent meditation retreat, and a personal retreat application is required. Those with less than three weeks previous experience are strongly encouraged to begin their retreat on the first week.
